FAQ

Hard Agave is pure Agave Nectar that has been fermented using a Tequila yeast. All of the sugars in the Agave Nectar are consumed by the yeast and converted into alcohol, resulting in a zero sugar beverage. Real fruit and other ingredients are then added to create Thorntail. The sugars in Thorntail come from Real Fruit and Invert Sugar.
Both are from the exact same plant – the Blue Weber Agave plant. The main difference is that Hard Agave is fermented, whereas Tequila is distilled. If someone were to distill Thorntail Hard Agave, it would become Tequila.
The simple answer is yeast! At Thorntail, we ferment all the sugar out of the agave nectar, and yeast convert that sugar into alcohol. The sugars in Thorntail come from the addition of real fruit.

Thorntail Hard Agave contains Fermented Agave Nectar, Real Fruit, Flavorings, Sea Salt, Citric Acid and Invert Sugar.
Thorntail and Tequila are made from the same plant, but the process is different. It’s like Rum and Hard Seltzers. Both come from sugar but taste totally different. So, you don’t have to like Tequila to enjoy Thorntail, but if you do like Tequila, we guess that you will like Thorntail even more.
